Meet the Doctors
Dr. Edward T. Ferry
Born in Providence, Dr. Edward T. Ferry is a graduate of LaSalle Academy High School. He received his BA degree from Providence College and his DDS degree from New Jersey College of Medicine and Dentistry.Dr. Ferry practiced dentistry for three years while on active duty in the United States Navy and two years in private practice prior to completing his orthodontic residency at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. Since that time he has been practicing orthodontics in Cranston. From 1969 to 2001 Dr. Ferry also practiced in his East Greenwich satellite office.
As a Board Certified Orthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, he has been honored with Fellowship in both the American College of Dentistry (FACD) and the International College of Dentistry (FICD). A member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, he was the recipient of the Outstanding Service Award in 2006.
Dr. Ferry served in the US Navy a total of 21 years (3 active and 18 years active reserve) and retired with the rank of Captain.
He has made four humanitarian trips to Haiti to provide dental services (extractions and infection control) to the poor and destitute in villages around Jeremie and remains active with the Haitian Health Foundation as a volunteer.
Dr. Ferry is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Northeast Society of Orthodontists, the Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists, the Rhode Island Dental Association, and the Cranston Dental Society. He is a past president of the Rhode Island Association of Orthodontists and the Cranston Dental Society. Dr. Ferry served on several councils and commissions in the Rhode Island Dental Association including Chairman of the Council on Governmental Affairs. In addition he was a member on the Commission on Relief, later incorporated into what is now the ADA Foundation.
Dr. Ferry, and his wife, Margot, have four children and eight grandchildren.
